Role Overview:
Gold Rush is seeking a high-energy, strategically-minded Manager, Artist & Label Relations to lead the growth of our RIAA Awards and commemorative plaques division.
This role is designed for a "hunter" – someone with a deep, active network across the music industry who thrives on the high of closing a deal. You will be responsible for turning RIAA milestones into high-value sales with the world’s most influential artists and labels.
The Goal:
To make Gold Rush the undisputed first choice for major and indie labels, management firms, and RIAA-certified artists, specifically within the popular Hip-Hop, Latin and Pop genres.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Development: Proactively identify new and upcoming RIAA certifications (Gold, Platinum, Multi-Platinum) using industry data and trade news.
- Repeatable Sales: Pitch and close comprehensive "Team Commemoration" packages (10–50+ units) to label marketing departments and artist management teams.
- Strategic Networking: Maintain and leverage a deep rolodex of Marketing Managers, A&R Coordinators, and Label Managers.
- Account Management: Act as the primary point of contact for high-value, repeat business clients, ensuring a best-in-class boutique experience from design to delivery.
- Workflow Collaboration: Work seamlessly with our Austin-based Production Director, Graphic Designer and Sales Coordinator to move orders from “Pitched” to "Closed" to "Shipped," utilizing Airtable and Slack for real-time accountability.
Qualifications:
- Industry Literacy: 3-5 years of experience with a label, agency, management firm, venue and/or merch company. You must speak the language of the music business and understand how to navigate label hierarchies.
- Strong Rolodex: A proven ability to get in front of marketing leads at major labels and receive an immediate response.
- Entrepreneurial Grit: You're comfortable in a high-growth, boutique environment and are accountable for results – especially because this is a remote job.
Compensation Structure:
This is a contract-to-hire role with a 90-day trial period. Base salary and commission rates apply. Conversion to full-time opens up our employee benefits (PTO, 401K, Health, Dental & Vision Insurance).
- Commission: 5–8% of gross sales (uncapped)
- Base Salary (Guarantee): $50,000
